Meeting with the Consul General of Bangladesh in Toronto on Strengthening Bangladesh–Canada Trade Relations
Toronto, October 30, 2025 —
Md. Liton Ahmed, Founder of Made in Bangladesh Expo Ltd. and Chairman of the Global Trade Promotion Council of Bangladesh (GTPCB), met with Mr. Md Faruk Hossain, Consul General of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Toronto, to discuss future collaboration in promoting Bangladesh’s trade, investment, and diaspora engagement in Canada.
During the meeting, Mr. Ahmed shared details of the upcoming Made in Bangladesh Expo™ – Canada Edition 2026, which will be held from September 18–20, 2026, at the Mississauga Convention Centre, Ontario. The event aims to showcase Bangladesh’s export potential, foster B2B connections, and expand bilateral trade opportunities between Bangladesh and Canada.
The discussion focused on:
🔹 Inclusion of the Expo in the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB)’s Official Fair Calendar 2026
🔹 Collaboration with the Consulate General of Bangladesh, Toronto, as an Official Partner or Patron Organization
🔹 Strategies to engage the Bangladeshi diaspora and Canadian investors in trade, business, and innovation initiatives
Mr. Faruk Hossain commended the initiative and expressed the Consulate’s willingness to support endeavors that enhance Bangladesh’s international trade presence and strengthen economic ties with Canada.
Md. Liton Ahmed emphasized that the Made in Bangladesh Expo™ will serve as a dynamic platform to promote “Brand Bangladesh” globally—connecting exporters, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to new opportunities in the North American market.
