Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa Extends Support for Made in Bangladesh Expo™ – Canada Edition 2026

Ottawa, October 29, 2025 —
In a significant step toward strengthening Bangladesh–Canada bilateral trade relations, Md. Liton Ahmed, Founder & Chairman of the Made in Bangladesh Expo™ and the Global Trade Promotion Council of Bangladesh (GTPCB), held a fruitful meeting with H.E. Kazi Russel Pervez, Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Canada, and Mr. Shakhaowat Hossain, First Secretary (Commercial), at the Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa.

The meeting centered on the upcoming Made in Bangladesh Expo™ – Canada Edition 2026, scheduled for September 18–20, 2026, at the Mississauga Convention Centre, Ontario. During the discussion, Mr. Ahmed formally requested the inclusion of the Expo in the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB)’s Official Fair Calendar 2026 and proposed that the Bangladesh High Commission, Ottawa, collaborate as an Official Partner or Patron Organization.

The Made in Bangladesh Expo™ – Canada Edition 2026 aims to create a powerful international platform for promoting Bangladeshi products, services, and innovations to the North American market. It will showcase export-ready sectors such as RMG and textiles, leather, ICT, agro-processing, jute, light engineering, and handicrafts, while also facilitating B2B networking between Bangladeshi exporters, Canadian buyers, and diaspora entrepreneurs.

H.E. Kazi Russel Pervez appreciated the initiative and emphasized the High Commission’s commitment to supporting trade and investment programs that enhance Bangladesh’s global export footprint. Mr. Shakhaowat Hossain also expressed enthusiasm for continued engagement and coordination with GTPCB to ensure effective communication with EPB and relevant ministries.

The meeting concluded with a shared vision of deepening Bangladesh–Canada trade cooperation, fostering diaspora-led investment, and promoting “Brand Bangladesh” on the global stage.
